How Updog protects your information
Last updated October 1, 2026
Updog helps loan originators manage contacts, activities, notes, calendars, goals, pipelines, relationship work, recruiting, and related productivity workflows. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, and how to contact us about privacy requests.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information created while using Updog, and information needed to operate connected services.
- Account details such as name, email address, organization, role, and authentication identifiers.
- Customer relationship data you enter or import, including contacts, activities, notes, tasks, goals, calendar events, pipeline records, recruiting records, and relationship records.
- Integration data needed to connect services you choose, such as calendar providers, mortgage systems, card vendors, or assistant connections.
- Billing and subscription status handled through our payment processor.
- Usage, device, diagnostic, and security data such as IP address, browser, log events, error reports, and feature usage.
- Information about visits to our website, such as the pages you view, the links and buttons you click, the site that referred you, and your browser and device. We collect it with cookies and session recordings, and the recordings hide anything typed into a form.
- The email address you leave in our website's coming-soon window, if you ask to hear when sign-up opens. We send one email confirming it, keep the address to tell you once when sign-up opens, and delete it when you use the link in that email or ask support@updogcrm.com.
How we use information
- Provide, secure, maintain, and improve Updog.
- Authenticate users and enforce account, organization, and subscription permissions.
- Power product features such as dashboards, reminders, insights, assistant tools, and workflow automation.
- Process support requests, billing, operational notices, and product communications.
- Detect abuse, debug issues, monitor reliability, and satisfy legal obligations.
AI and assistant features
If you connect an AI assistant or use Ask Updog, Updog may send relevant account data to model providers or assistant platforms to answer your request or complete the workflow you initiated. Writes through Updog assistant and MCP features are staged for confirmation before execution. Updog does not use your data, including any data received from Google APIs, to train or improve AI or machine learning models, and the AI model provider we use (OpenAI, through its API) does not use it to train its models.
Google Calendar
When you connect Google Calendar, Updog asks Google for permission to:
- See the list of your calendars, so you can choose which one receives your Updog events and which ones show in Updog.
- Create a separate calendar named Updog, if you choose to keep your Updog events apart from your own.
- See, create, change, and delete events on the calendars you choose, so Updog can write the events you plan in Updog and show your other events beside them.
- See your Google account's email address, so you can tell which account is connected.
What we store. Your Google account's email address, the names and IDs of the calendars you chose, and, for each event Updog wrote, the Google event ID it corresponds to. The access token Google issues is kept encrypted in a secrets vault and is never shown to anyone, including Updog staff.
What we don't store. Your other Google Calendar events are read from Google when you open a screen that shows them and are not saved to our database. When you move or delete an Updog event in Google Calendar, Updog updates its own copy to match.
What we send to Google. The details of the Updog events you plan: title, time, description, and a link back to Updog. If you invite a contact to a meeting, we send that contact's email address and Google sends them the invitation. If you mark a meeting virtual, Google creates a Meet link for it.
Connected AI tools. If you connect an AI assistant to your Updog account through Updog's MCP server, that assistant can read the events you plan in Updog when you ask it to, and only for your own account. It never receives data Updog reads from Google: not your other Google Calendar events, your Google calendars or account address, or guest replies and Meet links from Google.
What we never do. We don't sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. We don't share it with anyone except as needed to run the features above, when you direct us to, or when required by law. Updog staff don't read it except to fix a problem you report, for security, or when the law requires it.
AI and machine learning. Updog does not use data obtained through Google Workspace APIs, including Google Calendar, to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine learning models, and does not transfer it to any third party for that purpose.
Disconnecting. In Updog, go to Settings → Integrations and choose Disconnect. We delete the events Updog wrote to your Google Calendar, revoke our access at Google, and delete the stored connection and token. You can also remove Updog's access at any time from your Google Account's security settings.
Limited Use. Updog's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
